Tom Cocklereece was born in 1955 in Greensboro, North Carolina but subsequently grew up in Carrollton, Georgia. He is married to Janice and has two adult children. Tom has degrees in medical technology, healthcare administration, a Master of Divinity with Biblical languages, and a doctorate in leadership and administration. He has served churches in Tennessee, Alaska, and Georgia where he currently lives. He is a specialist in ministry organizational development, discipleship, and leadership coaching. His first book, Simple Discipleship: How to Make Disciples in the 21st Century provides a simple church transformational discipleship process churches may use to improve their disciple-making ministries. He has written a workbook titled The Disciple-Maker’s Toolkit in a leader and learner edition. He is currently completing the manuscript tentatively titled The 25 Essential Laws of Discipleship: How to Reflect the Light of Jesus.

Tom is the writer and contributor for several blogs including Simple Discipleship @ WordPress which has a growing readership, linked2leadership.com and FaithVillage.com. Tom is also listed as a contributor for John Maxwell’s book Everyone Communicates, Few Connect.

Tom leads discipleship conferences across the United States and is now working to develop the next generation of leaders in churches, businesses, and communities. He is conservative in his doctrine and theology believing that the Bible is God’s Word. Desiring to give the best in leadership development, Tom is a certified coach, teacher, and speaker with the John Maxwell Team and works as a professional leadership coach.
